Friends Welfare Trust is an endeavor and commitment of a few friends to the deserving strata of society. May it be health, education, or pandemic, FWT leadership and management are committed to serve. It’s Allah’s blessing that our small sapling is turning into a full-grown tree. Our sincere intention of converting the hospital into a tertiary care specialist treatment effort is focused ONLY to increase our spread of welfare activities to a larger spectrum of society. Your standing beside us is the real strength to our programs. We pray humbly to Almighty Allah to accept the sincere efforts of all those helping and nurturing to achieve set goals.
May Allah reward you all with His mighty blessings. Ameen.

Qaim Hussain Shah

Chairman FWT

With the blessings of Almighty Allah, Friends Welfare Trust (FWT) started its journey on 1st Jun. 2005 by starting one clinic in the outskirts of Rawalpindi. Then the construction of FWT Hospital and dialysis center, Friends Paramedical College are hallmarks of FWT. Instead of various difficulties and challenges, the FWT team worked very hard with commitment and honesty to help the needy in Pakistan. All the above-mentioned achievements of FWT were possible due to the confidence, continuous financial, and moral support of the Pakistani community in Pakistan & all over the world.

Dr.Iftikhar Ahmad Khan Niazi

Founder & Secretary General FWT

By the grace of Almighty Allah, Friends Welfare Trust (FWT) has achieved most of its objectives in a very short period of time since its inception in the year 2005. I established FWT and had a dream to serve the underprivileged fellow countrymen in Pakistan, sharing my dream with Dr. Ghazala Iftikhar, Mr. Qaim Hussain Shah, and the late Mr. Noor Mohammad to join me. Now FWT has multiple welfare projects not only in Pakistan but also doing relief activities internationally.
Friends Hospital is FWT’s hallmark, completed in July 2012. We are thankful to all those who contributed and helped us in realizing our dream.
Now, our 2nd dream is the extension of Friends Hospital, which is a four-time bigger project. I am personally thankful to Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, who is at the front foot to complete our 2nd dream. May Allah Almighty give us strength, unity, and reward us and our parents on the Day of Judgment for this deed.

FWT Projects & Activities

Since October 2012, the trust is running “Friends Hospital and Dialysis Centre and Paramedical College for poor students in Rawalpindi. It is indeed a landmark achievement for the trust to establish Friends Hospital for the poor and needy patients. Currently, the hospital is catering to the health needs of about 8,000 to 10,000 patients on a monthly basis. FWT also has School for Street Children, Widows & Orphans program and giving monthly Stipend to widows and scholarships to orphans to complete their education.

Moreover, the trust has been actively participating in the emergencies during natural disasters, especially during the Flood and Earthquake emergencies. During flood relief activities, 2022, the trust has extensively worked with the help of Kuwait Relief Society under the umbrella of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of KUWAIT to facilitate the flood-ridden areas of provinces including Sindh, KPK and Baluchistan. FWT with the help of Kuwaitis also constructed 100 houses in Interior Sindh under the FWT Rehabilitation Program.

FWT also contributed in Earth Quakes in Syria and the current War in Gaza as international relief activities.

Friends Hospital Extension Program

The Stone Breaking Ceremony for the extension of Friends Hospital was jointly conducted by the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Islamabad, the Ambassador of Kuwait in Islamabad, and Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman. The extension block is planned to cover a total area of 100,000 square feet.

The purpose of the hospital’s extension is threefold: to accommodate the increasing number of patients, to enhance service quality, and to provide kidney transplants to poor patients who cannot afford them. To meet the community’s growing demands, a piece of land adjacent to the existing building has been acquired at a cost of Rs. 1 Billion. A modern, well-equipped health facility will soon be constructed on this site.
